The disappearance of Madeleine McCann is probably the most famous and talked about missing person case, yet there is so much false or misunderstood information out there.
Goncalo Amaral was the chief co-ordinator of the case initially but was replaced by Paulo Rebello on the 2nd of October 2007. Amaral retired from the force in July 2008 and published a book on the case 'Truth of the Lie'.
This book has become the 'Bible' of the case for many who beiieve there was a cover up and that Amaral had been takken off the case because he had it cracked. Today many believe that Maddie died in the apartment by accident due to having been administered a sleeping aid and that the McCanns covered up her death to avoid prosecution and save their reputations.
In these pages we will look at the actual facts of the case as opposed to Amaral's conclusions and examine some of the metadata surrounding this case.
Whatever you end up believing will at least be based on best available data.
